Bringing together leading international scholars, the ESREL Conference provides a forum for the presentation of scientific papers covering both methods and applications in the fields of risk, safety, and reliability to a wide range of sectors and problem areas. Special focus for the 2007 conference was on new knowledge, theories, and methodologies for the analysis and management of risk, reliability, and societal safety. Each of the papers is peer-reviewed. Risk, Reliability and Societal Safety contains papers presented at the 16th European Safety and Reliability Conference (ESREL 2007) in Stavanger, Norway, June 2007.
