Innovations In GIS

Derived from presentations made at the third annual UK National Conference on GIS Research, this work consists of contributions by leading experts in: geography, mathematics, computing science, surveying, archaeology, planning and medicine.

Part 1 Data issues: multi-resolution modelling in Geographical Information Systems; a generic large scale spatial data model for surveyors - changing practices and processes; balancing rights in data - elementary?; georeferencing people and places - a comparison of detailed datasets; the assessment of catchment environmental characteristics and their uncertainty. Part 5 Applications: precision farming in the office - investigating the development of a GIS-based field information system; modelling air quality and the effects on health in a GIS framework; land-user intentions and land-use modelling.
