In a society that seems to be teeming with TV cooks, where the phrase "chefs are the new pop stars" does not sound quite as ridiculous as it should, it would seem that cookery books are the new Harry Potters. Here Nigella Lawson encourages people (mainly women) with busy, stressful lives to get in that kitchen and bake some muffins because apparently the 'feelgood' factor is tremendous. With lots of mouth-watering recipes and a Channel Four series in the offing hopefully her new title will scale the same heights as a certain young, male chef we all know and love. Colour photos.
