Aquaculture Engineering

The first edition of this book was originally published in the Norwegian language, followed by the English language version published by Blackwell in 2007. So far we have sold 1020 copies with a revenue of c$130,000 making the first edition one of W-Bs best selling aquaculture books. Current prices are: US$224.99; £129.99; Euros 156.00. Sales have started to slow down now to about 10 copies per month, so it is time to look to publish a new edition. The new edition will contain the same order or content and chapter titles as the first edition. Chapter 5: Removal of Particles  New sections will be added, covering protein skimmers, and membrane filtration.  Chapter 8: Aeration and Oxygenation A new section will be added on CO2 gas removal  Chapter 10: Recirculation and Water Reuse Systems The size of this chapter will be substantially increased and it will be divided into two sections: technical intensive and biological intensive  Chapter 14: Ponds This chapter will also be substantially expanded, giving more detail about design and construction: it will also be divided into two sections, covering extensive and intensive operated ponds  Chapter 21: Design and Construction of Aquaculture Facilities New sections to be added will include the design and construction on other types of aquaculture facilities: hatcheries; marine fish, freshwater pond farms, and water reuse system. The title of this chapter might be changed to Production Systems. Professor Lekang will go through each chapter and update with new information and details of new technological developments and new equipment. There will be a number of new tables and many new illustrations added. It is likely to be about 20% longer than the first edition.
