Quando il fotografo Howard Huang iniziò a vendere i suoi fashion book a New York nel 2002 non aveva idea di essere sul punto di diventare il mastro della fotografia urbana. Le sue fotografie ben costruite rappresentano locali esotici, interni lussuosi, o le strade illuminate dal neon di Manhattan. Le sue eroine dalle forme ben evidenti includono la cantante Jacki-O, l'attrice Viada Guerra e star delle soap televisive come Hoopz, Delisshis e Rusky Jones e sfrecciano su moto rombanti, rapinano banche, brandiscono spade come sicari giapponesi, il tutto mentre si mostrano generosamente all'obiettivo. Huang padroneggia in maniera mirabile le tecniche digitali coniugando così la fotografia classica con le nuove tendenze del pittorialismo.

When photographer Howard Huang began shopping his fashion book around New York in 2002 he had no idea he was about to become the master of urban photography. Back then, Huang, originating from Taiwan, thought "urban girls" were just women who lived in the city, explaining, "English is my second language; I was still learning." Nonetheless, when the editor of Black Men magazine asked if he knew how to shoot sexy women he said, "Sure!" and set about staging the magazine’s voluptuous singers, models, and actresses in fantasies inspired by his love of comic books and anime. <br />
