Esophageal cancer has become one of the cancers that can be detected early with the widespread use of endoscopy. AUTORE

Omer Engin is an Associate Professor of General Surgery in theDepartment of Surgery, VM Medical Park Pendik Hospital, Istanbul,Turkey. Dr.Engin received his medical degree from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine.He completed surgical training at the Ministry of Health Taksim Training andResearch Hospital in Istanbul and then worked in training and researchhospitals for many years, contributing to the training of many new generalsurgeons.  Dr. Engin's special interestsinclude in particular oncologic surgery and esophagogastric  surgery. He has authored numerousinternational research articles and congress proceedings and edited many bookson general surgery. Dr. Engin is a member of various national and internationalsurgical associations. As a person who enjoys research, he supports theprinciple of multidisciplinary work and is keen to share his experience and knowledge.
