Thisbook analyses the present global financial and economic crisis, the most severe in nearly a century, and a wider set of multiple and converging crises with aspects and repercussions that go well beyond the current economic climate. Written by some of the world’s leading international scholars in the field of Globalization studies and related disciplines, this important collectionaddresses numerous key aspects of the relationship between Globalization and global crises, past, present, and future. Barry K. Gills is Professor of Global Politics at Newcastle University, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK. He is the founding Editor of Globalizations journal and the "Rethinking Globalizations" book series from Routledge.Dr. Gills is alsoa founding Editor of the Review of International Political Economy. A former Fellow of the Transnational Institute, Amsterdam, and present fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science, he has published widely in the fields of critical Globalization Studies, world system theory, global history, and Critical Development Studies. His recent works include Globalization and Global History (2006, with William R. Thompson) and Globalization and the Global Politics of Justice (2008).
