This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 13th Irish International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Science, AICS 2002, held in Limerick, Ireland in September 2002.The 16 revised full papers and 17 revised short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected for inclusion in the book.
