TRAMA
This book introduces characterizations of hyperordered structures using latest quantum beam technologies, the advanced theoretical methods for understanding the roles of the structures, and the state-of-the-arts materials containing the structures. In this book, the authors focus on the importance of defect complexes to improve functionality of crystals and that of orders of network structures to improve functionality of glass materials. These features can be regarded as interphases between perfect crystals and perfect amorphous, and they are the key factor for the evolution of materials science to a new dimension. The authors call such interphases "hyperordered structures" in this book. This is the first book that comprehensively summarizes glass science, defect science, and quantum beam science. It is valuable not only for active researchers in industry and academia but also graduate students.SOMMARIO

Koichi Hayashi was born in Kagoshima, Japan, in 1968. He obtained his B.Sc. (1990) and M.Sc. (1992) degrees from Kyushu University, and D.Sc. (1996) degree from Kyoto University. He was a research associate in Kyoto University (1996–2000) and Tohoku University (2000–2003). Then, he promoted to an associate professor (2003–2015) in Tohoku University. He moved to Nagoya Institute of Technology as a full professor in 2015. He has been engaged in developments of new X-ray analysis methods to date. Recently, he has investigated local structures around dopants in state-of-the-arts materials by means of XFH. In November 2020, he launched a huge national project (JSPS Grant-in-Aid for Transformative Research Areas (A)) of “Hyper-ordered Structures Science” as a representative.ALTRE INFORMAZIONI
